Parade Criteria
If you or your organization would like to be considered for the 2010 Parade, please review the following criteria, download the application form, and send it with photographs and/or other appropriate supporting material to:

General Parade Entry Criteria
  • Previous parade experience is required.
  • A list of awards and honors is a plus.
  • Photos, videos, or another visual medium must be included with your submission.
  • Materials submitted with your entry request will not be returned.
Bands/Musical Organizations
  • Comerica Bank New Year’s Parade musical groups are comprised of high school bands participating in the National AT&T Cotton Bowl Music Festival.
  • For more information on the National AT&T Cotton Bowl Music Festival, contact Scott Baker at National Events toll free 1-800-333-4700.
  • Coordinated uniforms are required.
  • Musical groups with a prestigious list of honors/awards and an exceptional ability to entertain audiences are a plus.
Drill Teams/Dance Teams
  • All drill teams/dance teams are selected by Encore Creative Productions, director of National AT&T Cotton Bowl Pageantry.

Equestrians
  • Exceptional parade performance experience required.
  • Coordinated costumes required.
  • Flags, color, and uniqueness are a plus.
Floats
  • All parade floats are designed and constructed by a professional float builder for the parade.
  • Existing professional floats will be considered pending applicant’s agreement to sponsorship requirements.

Scholarship Pageant Contestants/Winners
  • Parade participation by scholarship pageant winners is limited to Miss America, Miss Texas, and the Miss America Scholarship Organization state winners represented by the two teams competing in the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. In the event that Miss America state winners are unable to participate, the Parade Committee may invite other appropriate representatives such as the respective Miss USA state winners.
Elected Officials
  • Parade participation by elected officials is limited to current or former U.S. Presidents, the governor of Texas, the governors of the states represented by the two teams competing in the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, and the mayor of Dallas.
Vehicles
  • Nearly all parade vehicles will be provided by the official parade automotive dealers.
  • Open-air vintage vehicles that can carry VIPs will be considered.
  • Vehicles must be in good running condition and be able to idle for long periods of time without overheating.
  • All vehicles must arrive with a full tank of gas or have a gas tank in the vehicle for refueling.
Specialty Entries
  • Unique walking units or choreographed entries that fall outside of the previous categories are welcome pending applicant's agreement to sponsorship requirements.
  • Organized, coordinated, choreographed routines are required.
  • Coordinated, attractive costuming is required (No t-shirts or sweat suits).
